It’s been a lovely week with a brilliant catwalk of soufflés and a nice variety of desserts!  The lemon cheesecakes were rather dense but had a lovely flavour then there were some experimental Ispahan raspberry, lychee and rose water cupcakes with a lovely moist coconut oil sponge.  Both need tweaking, for the cheesecakes to lighten up and for Mr Raspberry to stand up a little more strongly to Mrs Dominant Rose Water.  Cyberspace recipelandia awaits.

A recipe that did hit my little blogiverse was Rose and Lime Turkish Delights made with mum in June for a Daring Kitchen challenge.  It was an adventure we won’t forget and inspired a little cartoon story.

Soufflés

Of course this week we had our little soufflé party, which was a kind of a challenge but everyone said soufflés are fairly easy to make!  Yay!  I’ve been so proud of the soufflés my baking friends brought along and their lovely positive attitudes.  I’ve also learnt so much and am adding a list of soufflé tips and notes at the bottom of the party post.  Hope you’ll go over and check out the amazing soufflés here.  I thoroughly enjoyed making and eating my contribution of broccoli and cheese soufflés.  You can still bring your own soufflé to the party this week if you’ve been inspired!  Join us!  🙂

Cake prizes?

Finally, yesterday I concocted an alcoholic dessert.  The photo below is a clue so you can guess what I made.  Cake prizes for the winning answers!!!  Okay, I’m half-joking and they’re kind of ‘virtual cake prizes’.  But if you guess right and you’re in Barcelona then please feel most welcome to collect your cakes!  🙂  Best be fast.  There seems to be a cake-eating mouse in the house.

Making cakes with my French mother on Sundays was an important part of my childhood. As an adult I then experimented with baking books and internet recipes and did a great patisserie course in Le Cordon Bleu Paris. I'm still trying out new recipes and creating some of my own cakes with influences from all around the world, adding some healthy ones to the repertoire. Yes, I love cakes!!! :)
