Another hard week of making and eating cakes! This week there were some healthy and ‘almost-healthy’ cakes, as I’m now calling them. Hey, reduced portions of butter, eggs, flour and dairy products can be good for you! Three words: ‘small slices’ and ‘willpower’ – of course I always put those concepts into practice… not! 🙂
The multilayered blood orange tart recipe is already posted and the chocolate profiteroles are on their way. My blood orange tart instagrams got a very strange reaction: several people I don’t know liked them! Then faded into cyberspace. Social networking continues to mystify me.
Recipes coming up soon: le orange and rum fruitcake de voyage and salted caramel choux puffs. And maybe the sugar-free, gluten-free blood orange, macadamia and polenta cake – bit greasy but worth tweaking as it’s a miracle of ‘free-ness’.
I haven’t forgotten some sweet readers’ requests (hi guys!) for the Raspbery Charlotte (header photo), Mojito cake and Courgette and apple cake. Will try to post some this month. So many cakes, so little time! Still, must soldier on, stiff upper lip what. I’d quite like to create some Valentine mousse cakes today to celebrate luuuuv and might toddle off to the kitchen in a bit.
So bye for now sweet reader and thanks for dropping by! Happy cake daydreams! 🙂
P.S. I’ll definitely take more requests if you’d like to suggest any other recipes to post. There really is no such thing as too many cakes! 🙂
I am not allowed to eat cake, I appreciate how pretty your cakes are.
I have had similar experiences on Instagram. Sometimes someone likes a picture of me, but then I never hear from them again. I think that is just how it is.

Hi Albert the Dog! Thank you! I’m so glad you’re still appreciating the cakes visually despite being unable to eat them (though I always feel a bit sorry for you…). And thanks for the Instagram feedback – it’s good to know a bit more about what the ‘norms’ are for other people, sorry, dogs I meant. Thanks and happy blogging and woofing! 🙂
